About
A small team in Galați, Romania, building systematic trading tools that show their work.
Ashford Collective is a software company based in Galați, Romania, that develops and operates an algorithmic trading automation platform. We serve independent retail traders and small proprietary trading funds who want to run systematic strategies without relying on opaque third-party signals or black-box execution engines. Our platform automates the execution of rules-based strategies, runs historical backtests against verified price data, enforces risk controls that the trader configures, integrates with API-compatible brokers, and provides a real-time monitoring dashboard that surfaces every relevant data point without aggregation or delay. We do not manage client capital, select trading instruments, or provide investment advice. We build a tool; the trader operates it. That boundary is not a limitation we apologise for — it is a deliberate design choice that keeps the trader in control and keeps our incentives aligned with platform quality rather than account performance.
The company was founded in 2021 by a team of four — a backend engineer, a quantitative analyst, a broker-integration specialist, and a product designer — all of whom had previously worked with or alongside professional trading operations and found the available tooling either opaque, overpriced, or both. Since launch, we have onboarded more than 140 individual traders and twelve small funds across Romania and three other EU countries. Every feature that has been added to the platform since 2021 has come from a documented user request logged in our public feature tracker — nothing has been added because it looked impressive in a demo. Our development process is iterative and conservative: we do not ship features to the live platform until they have passed a backtesting regression suite and a paper-trade simulation period of at least ten business days. The team operates from a single office on Str. Domnească in Galați and works entirely in-house — we do not use offshore contractors for any component of the trading engine or the risk-control layer. Response times and support quality are not outsourced. If you send a message to our support address, a member of the core team reads it. We work Monday through Friday; we are honest about not providing weekend coverage, and we do not pretend otherwise in our marketing materials.
Every platform action — every order, every risk-control activation, every strategy pause — is written to a tamper-evident log that you can export at any time. Logging is not an optional add-on; it is how the system works.
We automate execution; we do not advise on strategy. We integrate with supported brokers; we will tell you if yours is not on the list before you sign up, not after. Scope boundaries are stated plainly in every commercial document we produce.
Our revenue comes from subscription fees, not from your trading outcomes. This means our engineering attention goes toward platform reliability and transparency features — not toward nudging you toward higher-risk configurations.
All development, support, and configuration work is handled by our core team in Galați. When something breaks at an inconvenient time, the person who built it is reachable — not a contractor in a different time zone.
